As noted above, the TAUC Board of Directors will participate in an all day Strategic Planning Retreat on July 23, 2009. More details regarding TAUC Board of Directors Strategic Planning Retreat will be mailed out prior to your arrival in Baltimore. It is extremely important that you plan to attend the retreat!

The meetings will be held at the InterContinental Harbor Court Hotel, 550 Light Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21202 (410-234-0550).

TAUC has reserved a block of sleeping rooms at the InterContinental Harbor Court Hotel at a special rate of $219 per night for single or double occupancy. If you require hotel accommodations please contact the hotel directly at (410) 234-0550 or (800) 824-0076 to reserve your sleeping room under TAUC room block. Due to a number of citywide events taking place in Baltimore during this time sleeping rooms are limited, therefore we urge you to contact the InterContinental Harbor Court Hotel at your earliest convenience to make your reservation. The cut-off date for hotel accommodation is Monday, June 22, 2009.

A draft copy of the May 5, 2009 Executive Committee meeting minutes will be emailed to all committee members prior to the meeting. In additional a copy of the May 6, 2009 Board of Directors meeting minutes, a tentative agenda for the July 22-23, 2009 meetings, and a copy of the financial report for the first five months of 2009 will be emailed to you in the next few weeks.

Cancellation and Other Policies:

Hotel cancellations must be made twenty-four (24) hours prior to arrival in order to avoid charge for the first night's room and tax. Reservations may only be cancelled by calling the hotel directly at (800) 824-0076 or 410-347-9700 and obtaining a cancellation number. No-shows will be charged first night's room and tax.

Local Information
The InterContinental Harbor Court Baltimore is located on Baltimore's renowned Inner Harbor within walking distance of the downtown business district and many popular attractions. Just across the street are Harborplace and The Gallery, the Maryland Science Center and the National Aquarium. Within three blocks, sports buffs can take in an Orioles baseball game at Camden Yards or visit the Babe Ruth museum. A brisk walk will take art enthusiasts directly to the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Walters Art Museum.

Airport
InterContinental Harbor Court Baltimore is 12 miles from the Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI). A taxi ride is approximately $25.

Train
InterContinental Harbor Court Baltimore is 20 blocks from Penn Station which offers Amtrak service from most US cities. A taxi ride is approximately $15.

Driving
From New York/Philadelphia
Take 95 South to the Fort McHenry Tunnel. After exiting the tunnel, take 395 (Exit 53) following signs reading: DOWNTOWN BALTIMORE - INNER HARBOR. As you exit 395, you will make a right turn onto Conway Street and follow it to the end. Turn right onto Light Street and go 1.5 blocks to the InterContinental Harbor Court Baltimore. Make a right into our Courtyard.

From Washington
Take 95 North to 395 (Exit 53) and follow signs reading: DOWNTOWN BALTIMORE - INNER HARBOR. As you come off 395, you will make a right turn onto Conway Street and follow it to the end. Turn right onto Light Street and go 1.5 blocks to the InterContinental Harbor Court Baltimore. Make a right into our Courtyard.

From BWI Airport
Take 295, Baltimore-Washington Parkway, north to BALTIMORE INNER HARBOR. Make a right onto Pratt Street. Proceed approximately 4 blocks to Light Street. Turn right onto Light Street and go 2.5 blocks to the InterContinental Harbor Court Baltimore. Make a right into our Courtyard.

Valet & Self Parking Available
Valet Parking is available by entering the Hotel Courtyard off Light Street and the cost is $32 per day, plus 16% tax. Self parking is $21 per day, plus 16% tax (with in/out privileges); and is available by making a right turn at the first light past the hotel onto Lee Street, then turning right into the garage.
