Building on the successes of previous Safety-Labor Forums, TAUC will again bring together industry professionals for an open forum, so that contractors, building trades representatives, and owners can share and retain the information necessary to create value in the union construction industry.

Who: This meeting is designed to help educate construction industry professionals on critical safety and health and labor issues.

Networking at the Ballpark: TAUC has reserved baseball tickets for Tuesday, September 8, 2009 as the Pittsburgh Pirates take on the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park. If you are interested in attending the baseball game please complete the online registration form. The cost is $55.00 per person and includes food and beverage. Seats are limited so please register immediately if you plan to attend.

Joint Safety and Health Meeting: On Tuesday, September 8, 2009 a joint TAUC/NACBE Safety and Health Committee meeting will be held in conjunction with Pennsylvania Powers Union Construction. The Committee will meet from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM in Ellwood I & II meeting room located on the second floor of the Sheraton Station Square Hotel. Lunch will be provided for all Committee members.

Local Employer Organization Committee Meeting: On Tuesday, September 8, 2009 a TAUC Local Employer Organization Committee meeting will be held in conjunction with Pennsylvania Powers Union Construction. The Committee will meet from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM in the Executive Boardroom of the Sheraton Station Square Hotel.

Hotel Accommodations: Please contact the Reservation Department at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel at 1-412-261-2000 to reserve a sleeping room under TAUC room block in order to receive the special room rate of $139.00 per night, plus tax for single or double occupancy.

Cancellation and Other Policies:

Hotel Cancellations: Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to date of arrival to avoid a one night room and tax charge. All NO-SHOWS will be billed for one night's room and tax. Rooms will become property of the hotel with rooms and rates subject to availability.

Baseball Game Cancellation: There are no refunds once a game ticket has been purchased.

Travel Information:

From Pittsburgh International Airport
Take 60 South (Pittsburgh) to Interstate 279 North to Exit 5-C. Bear right and continue for approximately one mile. At the second light, turn right onto Carson Street (837). The hotel is approximately 1.5 miles on the left.

From East
Take Interstate 376 West to the Grant Street Exit (1C). Turn left at the first light onto Fort Pitt Boulevard. Stay in the left lane and go one block to Smithfield Street. Turn left at the light onto the Smithfield Street Bridge, and the Station Square entrance is at the end of the bridge.

From North
Take Interstate 79 South to I-279 South to Fort Pitt Bridge. Stay in the far right lane and exit 5-C (just before the tunnel). This will put you on Carson Street. (Route 837). Turn right at the first light and follow the access road to the hotel.

From South
Take Route 79 North to I-279 North (Pittsburgh). Take Exit 5-C (West End) and bear to the right. Continue for approximately one mile and at the second light, turn right onto Carson Street (837). The hotel is approximately 1.5 miles on the left.

TRANSPORTATION TO PNC PARK:
The Gateway Clipper Fleet provides shuttle service from Station Square Dock to all Pittsburgh Pirates home games at PNC Park. Shuttle to the game begins approximately 2 hours before scheduled game time. Return shuttle to Station Square Dock begins during the bottom of the 7th inning of each game and will continue for one half hour after the game ends.
